QR Scan & Link Click Spider\Bot Activity

Edited

Overview

As you use QR codes and Links on your website, especially on social media posts, you may see activity from various Spiders and Bots that artificially drive up your campaigns results - but QIVIR has a built-in solution for this.

Why Does This Happen?

When you include QR Codes and shortened URL links on your social media posts, the systems that are in place by Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube and others follow those QR codes and Links to understand where you are taking their users to make sure your content does not violate the platform's rules and regulations.

Sometimes each platform will traverse your links once, sometime every time you edit the post, or they may traverse your links many times from different datacenters across the country or across the world to make sure the content does not change based on the location of their users.

This activity comes across the QIVIR platform as Spider or Bot activity which could artificially inflate your campaign results.

The Solution

QIVIR automatically filters out any Spider or Bot activity from all your dashboards and reports to make sure you don't see this activity and think your campaigns are performing better than they really are.

While QIVIR has done our best to filter out this type of activity, please notify support@qivir.io if you experience any activity, you feel should additionally be filtered out as new scenarios are always emerging.

You should also note that QIVIR implements additional technologies to block bad actors from running up your campaign activity and these algorithms can periodically change without notice.
