Introduction to Territories

Edited

Overview

Territories are specifically used to power the Route to Agent and Business Location Finder feature in QIVIR's IVR platform. You can create Territories that represent one or more States, Area Codes or Zip Codes that you can then assign to a Location or use in a call routing menu item. Make sure your subscription level grants you access to these features if you plan on using them.

The QIVIR platform decouples the individual geo-location resources that comprise a Territory from the location itself so that it may easily be moved from one location to another based on the status of your locations. This is helpful should one of your locations close or be suspended, you can easily move the Territory records from the old location to the new location without the need to hand edit dozens of zip codes.

When you create a Territory, you must specify the type of territory you are creating by indicating the territory will be used for Call Routing or a Location Territory. The two types are separate because of internal processing rules.
